I'm on a bit of a run at the moment, son - the motor, the kettle, the decking.

Has the upkeep on the decking and the Yaris taken its toll on the funds P?

Re: Sardinia.
Went in 90 like some others

Place called Paula lovely place for a quiet family holiday not for a group of blokes , the England teams family stayed at the same resort

In Calgary remember the ugliest brass ever by the station no teeth and about 60 after the Ireland game , also getting chased up them stairs to the town hall by the old bill and everyone being rounded up in the petrol station

Cant believe it was 24 years ago, getting fucking old

Re: Sardinia.
Great place, our "travel agent" ran off with our money so we had to squat in someone else's holiday villa for 2 weeks. Police weren't too friendly, bit of tear gas I remember, one night we needed to get back from Cagliari to our "villa" and they cancelled all the buses, great fun

There were quite a few bars but they mostly stayed shut when we were in town. Where we stayed there was a pizza place and they literally only served pizza for a fortnight, everything else was off the menu.

Because this was 24 years ago I couldn't afford flights so we went by ferry/train/ferry, on the train from Paris to Rome there were brasses working out of one of the compartments

Thinking about it, great trip, terrible place.....

We went 2 years running down in the south east coming into Cagliari airport. Driving is fun being just this side of the standard of Turkey.
I assimilated into the local methods and often had my sister-in-law kacking it as we drove on hair pin coastal roads.
Yes it is eye-wateringly expensive

Cracking island, would love to go back but, as has been said, you will literally shit money out the whole time.

I stayed at the Forte Village for a week once.

Paul Ince and his family and Wenger and his wife were also staying there.

W4Hammer is right. Cheap it is not!

Re: Sardinia.
paul, if you have the time take the ferry to Bonifacio, on the southern tip of Corsica, from Santa Teresa di Gallura. Only 45 minutes to cross the Straits of Bonefacio. Isola Rossa is only a short trip down the coast from the ferry terminal.

Well worth it because the views are spectacular when approaching the port.

We have decided to book after lots of reviewing and advice from friends.
Have decided to stay at The Relax Hotel, Isola Rossa on North East Side.
